THE PROJECT HAS ENDED AND THE GRAND TOTAL IS 704 HOURS!!! Message from Lucy: Dear friends, our
job on this planet is to make our children's
physical and social environment safer.
Thank-you all for
giving your time to enrich your own communities. I love that my fans don't care about lipstick. We ain't perfect but we try to do the right thing always. I am proud of
you all!
Lucy As many of you know, part of Lucy’s sentence for occupying the Shell oil rig was to do 120 hours of community service. For her birthday, March 29, I thought we could show our solidarity with Lucy, the Taranaki 7 and Greenpeace by putting in our own 120 Hours helping in our communities around the world. For anyone who wants to participate, send me an email (subject 120 Hours) with your name, state, country, service you did, date in March (from March 1 - 31, 2013) of the service and number of hours you put in. I’ll keep a running tally at the top of this website as well as a page listing the emails with your info and we’ll see if we can hit our own 120 hours of community service by her birthday. It can be helping the environment, neighbors, kids, elderly, animals, park cleanup, AIDS projects, food pantry, school volunteer, animal shelter, anti-bullying project -- anything at all that helps the people in your family, neighborhood, town, city, etc. You folks are always so inventive. I can't wait to see what you come up with. What do you think? Are you in? 120 HOURS PROJECT CONTRIBUTORS Sierra Grogg -- Missouri, USA -- Volunteered at a Nursing Home during a blizzrd, ( I knew they needed extra people due to practically being snowed in) -- 8 hours Vicki M. -- NY, USA -- I volunteered at the Plainedge Library -- March 10 -- 2 hours Angela Merry Pavlica -- California, USA -- I will volunteer at the Long Beach Senior Center -- March 8, 15, 22, 29 -- 16 hours Joanna -- UK -- Volunteered at the local Riding for Special Needs -- 1 hour Diana -- Michigan, USA -- I volunteered to tutor children in reading and math -- March 13, 20, 27 -- 6 hours Marine -- Geneva, Switzerland -- I volunteered at the FSA (it's an association for blind people) -- March 2 -- 8 1/2 hours Anett Fink -- Brandenburg, Germany -- I volunteered at the Youth facility "Shalom" (Großräschen) -- March 6-22 -- 6 hours Marilyn -- Montreal, Canada -- I'm going to volunteer for the youth development.
