February 2011 Archives

2/27/11 -- Congratulations to Lucy who's been nominated in the Best Supporting Actress in Television category for the 37th Annual Saturn Awards.  Spartacus: Blood and Sand was also nominated in the Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series category.  The full list of nominees in Lucy's category are:
Morena Baccarin, V
Gina Bellman, Leverage
Jennifer Carpenter, Dexter
Laurie Holden, The Walking Dead
Lucy Lawless, Spartacus: Blood and Sand
Beth Riesgraf, Leverage

2/24/11 -- A message from Lucy about the earthquake in New Zealand.

2/17/11 -- Another message from Lucy.  She's wrapping up her appearances on No Ordinary Family, plotting special treats for the winner of the Resene auction for Argo, teasing us about what's in store for Lucretia and she's sent pics of Tilly, the real Argo!
And keep those "likes" for the Facebook page coming!
And check out the auction -- you never know what you might end up with besides a big, blue Argo!

2/16/11 -- There was a strange tweet yesterday:
@Ellerslie_Races -- Natalie Swan -- So, we're jumping #lucylawless #aucklandcupweek #resene horse off the skytower tomorrow...10am
When I asked Lucy what was happening, she sent back a photo and video.  It seems her blue pony was being asked to dive off the Sky Tower in Auckland.  The video shows him being lifted to the top of the tower.  And then we see a bull's-eye on the ground.  The video ends there.  I'll have to get an update on how the jump turned out!  <G>

2/14/11 -- A series of snaps with Lucy's new Flip and we get to see the birth of Argo Starship Warrior Princess!  He's just been loaded onto the flatbed truck and off to Auckland Cup Week.  See the fond good-bye from Lucy above.  And keep those "likes" for the Facebook page coming!

2/7/11 -- Another message and photo from Lucy about her horse painting adventure for the Resene Fastest Art Exhibition.

Also, some fans have told me the reason they weren't able to "like" Lucy's Resene Facebook page and help raise more money for Starship is because they didn't want to join Facebook.  But I reminded them they could put in the least amount of information to join, go and "like" Lucy's page and help the voting and then just deactivate your account.  That button is easy to find.  Just go into account settings and the bottom option is deactivate account.  Stay until March 10 to make sure your "like" is tallied and you're home free and you've helped the kids at Starship.

2/4/11 addendum -- Lucy just sent me the second Resene videoclip.  She's busily painting away on the horse!

2/4/11 -- Speaking of the Xena convention, I filmed a short video with Lucy while she was taping the skit for the George Lopez show that aired before the convention.  She hoped to make a surprise appearance at the convention, but she wanted to make something to play for the fans in case she didn't make it.  During my time with her was when I found out she was doing a five-episode arc on No Ordinary Family.  They were going to film all her scenes over the course of four days before she went back to New Zealand.  Her episodes start airing March 1.

I wrote Lucy asking how it was to work with Tricia Helfer from Battlestar Galactica again on No Ordinary Family.  She popped back a quick note.  See above.

Lucy also did a photo shoot earlier on the Lopez taping day and I was there with my trusty camera.  My trusty camera, however, is brand new and it doesn't connect with my computer as easily as my old one did.  I'm going to conquer it over the weekend and put up some footage of the photo shoot.

2/2/11 -- Lucy popped into the Xena convention Sunday and sent us a note about coming on right after Renee showed her new short film, Infinity (written and directed by Randy Crowder who played the father in Words Unspoken), that deals with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.

Lucy's painting a lifesize horse statue for the Resene Fastest Art Exhibition to help raise money for Starship.  There's a Facebook page and the charity with the most likes gets an extra $5000.  With a click of the button you can do your bit to help Lucy and Starship!

Resene Fastest Art Exhibition
Check out Lucy's Facebook page for the great Resene Fastest Art Exhibition -- part of Auckland Cup Week.  Along with other celebrities, Lucy will be decorating a large white fibreglass horse to be displayed in Auckland in the two weeks leading up to Cup Week.  At the completion, the painted horses will be auctioned with the proceeds from Lucy's horse coming to Starship.

Click on the Facebook page and "like" it.  The Charity whose facebook page has the most likes will receive a $5,000 donation from Auckland Racing Club!
