Lucy's Blog: (click here for more messages) 5/2/08 I have to rush back to Los Angeles to be with Marissa, who is down to the final 5 in DWTS. She was in the bottom two last week. See what happens when I leave town?! Usually I am there making rude gestures across the dance floor, like I'm pulling a noose tight, just to stop her taking it all too seriously. Still, I want her to get through another week. Please don't forget to vote! L 5/1/08 Okay, so here I am in London where they are worrying about the election results, petrol tax and the dramatic upswing in the number of women arrested for drunkeness. But don't worry, I should be out in time for soundcheck Saturday. My chaps arrived from Los Angeles as promised. They are as nasty as all get-out and I am ashamed of myself. The band members are all on the case and seem prepared to have fun. Annie is going to wear her big black boots and long brown hair, just like the chick from the Jets, "BE MY GIRL.” And we're going to break out some Garbage too. It's going to be the sweatiest show ever. You know what to do. L (click images for large versions) 5/12/08 -- A rhumba and a quick step are the two dances Marissa and Tony did tonight. Check out the beautiful dances over on the right. And here's Lucy cheering her favorite dance team on. 5/6/08 -- Marissa did it again!!!!!!! She's on to next week. Only Marissa, Kristy, Cristian and Jason left. Gads what a nailbiter this is turning out to be <G> And Lucy's back on the set of Bedtime Stories. Nice "do," Lucy <G> 5/5/08 -- Lucy was texting me and I didn't know it so above are two new messages. One about the concert -- which hadn't happened yet. And one about Marissa on Dancing. The concert, if you haven't heard from those who were there yet, was the best!! Best band, best club, best sound and lights -- oh, yeah, and Lucy's performance. Just a tad . . . spectacular!!! We were breathless when it was over. People were standing around in shock. Fourteen songs, only two of which we had heard her do before. I just don't know how she puts these shows together with so little time. By the end of Sunday's show, the audience was so loud the performers were holding their ears and falling over laughing at the hysteria they were creating <G> And then there was Lucy's pants or, should I say, the lack thereof. I heard the photos were winging their way around the world before the clock chimed midnight. After the Sunday show when the audience had gone home and the set was struck, Lucy said, "Take my picture, take my picture!" So I did. 4/28/08 -- Message from Lucy about Marissa on Dancing with the Stars tonight: 4/23/08 -- You may have noticed the new message from Lucy about the content of the upcoming London concert. I think the people sitting down at the show are going to be glued to their seats and the standees are going to be passing out all over the floor! What a ride this is going to be <G> Marissa absolutely soared doing a Viennese Waltz! Two nines from the judges!! And it kept her on the show another week!!!! And Lucy was there cheering her on in her best Librarian mode, complete with glasses. I promise to get the clips up shortly so those who haven't seen them can revel in the joy of Marissa and Tony on the dance floor. 4/7/08 -- MARISSA WOWED THE JUDGES!!! What a fantastic routine. Really challenged her and showed another side to our champ. And Lucy was in the audience cheering her on. Everyone vote online through tomorrow. We've got to keep her in the running! 4/6/08 -- The SciFi channel has started to post Lucy's Battlestar interview and part 1 is now online. She told me she answered 12 questions so there will be more to come. 4/1/08 -- Message from Lucy about Marissa making it through the latest round on Dancing! Also news on BSG, Bedtime Stories and a couple girls we know doing their religious best in an upcoming movie called Bitch Slap. Lucy was also at one of Marissa's rehearsals and took this photo. 3/26/08 -- Lucy visits with Marissa and Tony and whips out her trust iPhone! 3/25/08 -- I think I'm going to have to tape the results shows of Dancing cuz my heart stopped beating as Marissa was one of the last two standing as they announced the team that would be leaving. But, the people spoke -- and we dialled our fingers off -- and she's saved! On to dance another week!!! You go, girl! Check out Lucy's blog above. I'll bet her scream of joy registered on the Richter Scale! 3/24/08 -- Added Marissa's second dance. A two-step that just flew across the floor. And the judges upped their votes from last week! 3/19/20 -- Did you ever see so much joy on one person's face? Marissa was having the time of her life and so was the audience. I laughed, I cried, I cheered. Watch the 1st Dance up on the right side. And, cheering her on from the front row, was Lucy. I can't wait till next week! 3/18/08 -- Lucy filmed her Battlestar bit on the David Letterman with the BSG cast and then flew a very, very red-eye home to be with Marissa for her debut on Dancing With the Stars. Check out Lucy's blog above. 3/17/08 -- Quick message from Lucy about trying to make it back to LA for Marissa's first appearance on Dancing With the Stars: "Tell the gang I am trying desperately to get back early from NY to make the taping. Going off to Letterman now!" 3/16/08 -- Just added a note from Marissa up top. 3/15/08 -- Lucy's getting prepared to support her friend Marissa Jaret Winokur as her dream comes true to appear on Dancing With the Stars. We'll post info in that box at the upper right hand of the page as it comes in. There's also a link to Dancing's page that will tell you about the phone/text/web voting procedures. 3/8/08 -- Many of the Battlestar cast are going to be on David Letterman, probably next week, doing "Ten Reasons to Watch Battlestar Galactica." Lucy will be joining them if she can get the time off from filming Bedtime Stories. Rob Tapert will be appearing at Creation's Los Angeles Fangoria convention Saturday, April 26, with a preview of upcoming Ghost House horror pics. 3/3/08 -- Check out Lucy's new blog -- she's been cast in Adam Sandler's Christmas release feature film, Bedtime Stories!! Talk about everything falling into place, it's an incredible tale of how things come about in Hollywood. 2/17/08 -- Just added the David Mack "Cowboy Lucy" drawing for sale in the photo section. It's an 11 x 14 print on parchment paper. As in the past, Lucy has signed some of them and they'll be sent out randomly. The paper is pure white although my scan came out a bit gray. 2/7/08 -- New message from Lucy thanking everyone for a spectacular weekend at the Roxy. She soared, you roared! I swear you guys took the roof off that place. And now it's on to London! 2/3/08 -- I just loved the addition of the violin and Candy Girard absolutely made it sing. Especially in "A Love Song." This clip is from the first band rehearsal when Lucy and Candi were working out the musical interlude. 2/1/08 -- The tour de force song of the night was Tuck and Patti's "Wide Awake." Lucy sang it accompanied by guitarist Ted Perlman. The lyrics are right on target for today's world and Lucy's grabbing our heartstrings to sit up, take notice and take action! Have a listen. 1/27/08 -- Another clip from Lucy's Roxy show from the second night is now up on the Official Xena Fan Club website.. Alex Adorian was working his magic again and came up with a new pair of chaps. Make sure you've got your sunglasses ready when you view the clip as these pants are positively glowing! 1/25/08 night -- It's Showtime! The house is jammed. The curtain's down. Lucy's voice begins to fill the air. "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?" Then it's gonna be a "Heartache Tonight." But not for these fans. This is what they've been waiting for, traveling for, standing out in the cold for. It gets warmer by the minute. And then hotter and hotter as Lucy has them screaming for joy. Gads, I love opening night! 1/25/08 -- There are about 13 or 14 songs in the set and only one is a holdover from previous shows. All the rest are newbies. And a great mix of warmth and heat! Also, as you'll hear in this, clip number 5, she's added a violin player. Here's Kenny Loggins' "A Love Song." 1/22/08 -- Here comes the third clip, "Kiss You All Over" by Exile, from 1978. She's working with her musical director, Michael Orland. Tomorrow another clip up on the Official Xena Fan Club website. A mystery song called "Sweetheart." 1/21/08 -- Here's the first clip of Lucy rehearsing for the Roxy concert. It's "Winner at a Losing Game" by Rascal Flatts. As this is an early rehearsal, not sure if the song is going to make the cut. Tomorrow there will be another clip up on the Official Xena Fan Club website. 1/13/08 -- New message from Lucy talking about the exciting time she had meeting Dean Kamen at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas. The inventor of the Segway got her fired up about getting more kids involved in science and technology. We're going to need brilliant minds to get through the problems we're dealing with now. She also is giving us a hint about her upcoming concert at the Roxy. It involves cowgirls and evening gowns! And, to celebrate her foray into country music, she's releasing the David Mack drawing of "Cowboy Lucy." It will be for sale on the website and at the convention. An 11 x 14 print on parchment paper. 1/7/08 -- Lucy's Saturday Roxy concert sold out! Not a square inch left in the room. Friday VIP tickets are sold out and there are only a few standing room tickets left for Friday. Talked with Lucy over the weekend and she's so excited about the show she's planning. I told her to get the camera ready to record some rehearsals so we could have a peek at what she's planning. 1/3/08 -- Let's start the New Year with a clip from Coffee Talk 6 starring Lucy and Renee. This clip is called "The Missing Voice of Elmo." Lucy tells the story of her appearance at a benefit for the Young Storytellers Foundation. There will be another clip up on the Official Xena Fan Club page tomorrow. 12/29/07 -- Here are a couple photos from the filming of Coffee Talk 6. Next week, I'm going to get a couple clips from the shoot and put them up here and on the Xena Fan Club page. 12/15/07 -- Here's part two of the Disco Lucy video series. The silver mini makes its appearance. Out comes the jewelry and curling iron and food! Lucy's getting hungry. This photo shoot took the whole day. 12/10/07 -- Here's a trailer for the Chicago concert DVD. 12/4/07 -- Lucy's Chicago concert DVD is on sale over on the Creation site! Couldn't resist showing you the menus for the DVD created by our editor Warner Young using photos taken by Chris Schmelke and Lida Verner. And I had a great time working on the bonus footage. Especially the first day of rehearsal with just Lucy, Joe LoDuca, Jason and the backup singers. So intimate, so mellow, so smooth, so uninhibited. It's a great peek behind the scenes. ![]() ![]() 10/11/07 -- When showtime finally rolled around Friday night, it was the greatest feeling to stand among the audience and just be carried along by their love and enthusiasm for Lucy. Here's a taste of that closing night with Lucy doing "River Deep, Mountain High." 10/5/07 -- Here's the second videoclip of Lucy rehearsing with the band. The first is on the Official Xena Fan Club site. It was a song I hadn't heard of, "I Smell A Rat." Gotta have a bit of Melissa Etheridge in a Lucy concert and she picked "Will You Still Love Me" for the Chicago concert. Have a listen. Over on the Xena Fan Club page you can hear Tuck and Patti's "Heaven Down Here." 10/1/07 -- Lucy was rehearsing numbers for the Chicago concert with Daisy and Jason and I grabbed my camera. Here's "Fooled Around and Fell In Love," sung through a modern-day dixie cup and string. Check out the Xena Fan Club page for "River Deep, Mountain High." 9/25/07 -- Here's a promo for Lucy's Chicago concert using footage from the Canal Room dvd. 9/23/07 -- In an earlier message, Lucy talked about the photo shoot that gave birth to Disco Lucy. Here's the first in a series of clips that shows what led up to the photo I'm using as a still to click on for the videoclip. 9/12/07 -- Lucy met with her vocal coach, Eric Vetro, to work on material for the Chicago concert at Buddy Guy's Legends. 8/13/07 -- Lucy's back behind the camera with her finger on the zoom button and Marissa's the target. Marissa tells a "dumb blonde Lucy" story and mimics a soundman overwhelmed by a Kiwi actress' accent. 8/12/07 -- Here comes Part Two of Lucy's recent adventures. This time she's at the REAF rehearsal singing "Footloose" with Gene Reed and Marissa Jaret Winokur has the camera. 8/11/07 -- I gave Lucy the club videocamera to take to Comic Con and the REAF benefit. Her daughter, Daisy, was with her and started the filming. Then Lucy got her hands on the camera and Katie Sackoff was her target. Onward Lucy and the camera went to San Francisco and, well, you'll see what happened there tomorrow. 6/26/07 -- As she's done previously, Lucy signed some of the new Heart Tattoo shirts and the Alek Adorian outfits photos. I took a photo of her working with the designer of the shirt. Instead of notes inside the hems of the shirts, she signed on the front. When it came to signing the new items, as so often happens, we did it out of the back of my car. It was a dark street on a dark night. I'm glad a squad car didn't drive past us and ask what we were doing. Ah, adventures with Lucy. 3/30/07 -- You all know Lucy's performing at the Dinah Shore Weekend Girl Bar Pure White Party tonight at the Hotel Zoso. (Boy, that's mouthful!) Yesterday afternoon she met with choreographer Michael Schwandt and her dancers and went over the three numbers she'll be performing at midnight. Got out my trusty camera and filmed the rehearsal. Click on the image below (QT version) to watch Lucy working out to "I'm the Only One" by Melissa Etheridge. She started out getting a few of the steps in the hallway while another performer was going through their routine. Then it was into the studio and under the hot lights. Boy, I miss the smell of Warrior Dancer sweat <G> (wmv version) (Big file, give it time to load) 2/24/07 -- I popped over to Lucy's house and she regaled me with the story about how the cd came about. She mentions that it started with a photo shoot which I filmed and I'll start putting up clips from that day. It was wild and crazy and Lucy was having a ball! 2/4/07 -- Lucy's CD "come2me" is now online for ordering. Click links to hear songs. ![]() "Let It Whip" and four remixes of "Come To Me." 10/14/06 -- I spent some time with Lucy talking about the aftereffects of being on Celebrity Duets. It seems the experience left her with a burning desire to do more singing! Have a listen to the QT version. (wmv version) ![]() ![]() 3/29/06 -- I know Lucy's parents must be pleased as punch with the award she received today.
