January 2006 Archives

1/26 -- Talked with Lucy tonight and she told me about an album she participated in with her vocal coach Eric Vetro.  The singers on the album all have Eric for their coach.  She's going to write me a bit to post.  Meanwhile, I spotted this in usatoday.com:

Stars bid you good night — with a lullaby

Scarlett Johansson, Ewan McGregor and Eric McCormack won't mind if you call their newest project a snooze. They're among 14 TV and movie stars lending voices to Unexpected Dreams: Songs from the Stars, a CD of adult-aimed lullabies.

Due March 7 on Rhino, the disc features the crooning of screen stars, accompanied by the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Johansson warbles Summertime, McGregor sings Sade's The Sweetest Gift, McCormack does Elton John's The Greatest Discovery.

Others contributing include Nia Vardalos, John Stamos, Jennifer Garner, Victor Garber, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lucy Lawless, John C. Reilly and Teri Hatcher. Proceeds will benefit Music Matters, the Philharmonic's fund for music education.

1/22 -- Great article in the New Zealand Sunday Star-Times about Lucy's trip to Bangladesh for World Vision.

1/18 -- What a phenomenal convention -- the audience rocked!  Lucy rocked!!  And I had the time of my life performing with her on my Guild 12-string guitar that's been in mothballs for the past 15 years.  Will have photos up shortly along with video tidbits of the convention and a recap of how our duet came about.

The two photos below that were for sale at the convention will be up on the shopping cart shortly along with the Juicy/Flawless shirt.  FYI, those two photos were taken by Allison Omundson, Tim's wife, specifically for the fan club.

("Donut Run" - (l to r) Veronica (Kristen Bell) speaks with FBI agents Willis (guest star San Diego XETV News Sportscaster C.S. "Donut Run" -- An FBI team, headed up by tough, seasoned Agent Morris (guest star Lucy Lawless), is called in to pursue Duncan after he breaks up with Veronica and flees with Meg's baby, on VERONICA MARS, Wednesday, Jan. 25 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on UPN.

Executive producer and creator Rob Thomas wrote and directed the episode.  Charisma Carpenter (Angel) guest stars as Kendall Casablancas and Lisa Thornhill (CSI: Miami) returns as Celeste Kane.

1/6 -- Okay, the Mystery of the Gold Legs has been solved.  Those of you who guessed it was a shirt design, give yourselves a high five . . . or a box of Godiva chocolates, whichever seems the better reward.  As for the Bond movie, it never occurred to me your minds would go in that direction!  We'll have to work on that for the future  (grin)  Click on the images below for more about Lucy's "Silhouette" shirt.

1/4 -- Just talked with Lucy and the book she's reading in the photo below is A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose by Eckhart Tolle.

1/2 -- While the rest of us Los Angelenos are turning pruney with rain, Lucy's basking in the sun of Miami!  Her caption?  "Lovin' Miami"
