The Sparty premiere kind of blew my mind. I have never been part of a show with such a publicity machine behind it. It may be that that kind of thing didn't exist for tv shows before the last two years. In any case, STARZ really pulled off a magnificent launch.
Liam and I have been beating the drum for Spartacus:Vengeance here in New York. We are exhausted but gratified. It is amazing how much interest there is in the show. Long may it continue!
I am staying a bit longer in the States so I can go thank the fans who first gave me a career. The folks at Creation are hosting their last ever Xena Con. How could I not go? They have been great friends to Xena: Warrior Princess, to Renee and me. We thank Adam, Gary, Sharon and all the team at Creation who have provided the forum for us to meet.
My love to all those who are unable to come this weekend. For the rest of you, travel safe, be joyful and I look forward to seeing you soon!

1/25/12 -- New message from Lucy as she hits the PR trail with Liam McIntyre to promote the new season of Spartacus. The two of them have been all over TV and radio, walking red carpets and spreading the word that Spartacus is back!
What an incredible few days we're about to have. The premiere of Spartacus Season 2 and Lucy's appearance with Renee and heaps of other Xena actors at the Official Xena Convention in Burbank, CA. The premiere airs on Friday, Jan. 27 and that's the same day the convention starts.
1/22/12 -- Listing of Lucy's PR appearances week of Jan. 23 - 27 leading up to the premiere of Spartacus: Vengeance on Friday, Jan. 27. And all the fans coming to the Official Xena Convention in Los Angeles on Sunday, Jan. 29 will get to see Lucy and Renee in person on stage!

And a Happy Holiday from me and the Muff. We're going to be bundling up tonight. It's supposed to be almost 80 degrees in LA for Christmas, but tonight it's going to get down to freezing in Burbank!

She's urging people to sign
a Greenpeace petition to the NZ government. She said, “I’d
urge anyone who wants to protect our coasts from an even worse oil
spill than that which we saw in Tauranga, to sign
this petition. By doing so, they’ll also be doing something
positive about the climate crisis that this planet is facing."
Check out her message above.11/4/11 -- When I saw the tweets about Lucy getting arrested at the Occupy Oakland protest for throwing a shoe at a policeman, I passed them along to Lucy. Knowing she was in LA not Oakland, I wondered what her response was going to be. It didn't take long for her to send me her "mug shots" and ask me to tweet them. We opted to tweet the first shot as, if you look in her eyes, the second one is actually quite sympathetic. What a hoot!
11/2/11 -- Well, now we know what Lucy dressed up as for Halloween. Check the photo of her and Viva above.
10/20/11 -- Lucy's come out of the depths of Roman decadence and what should greet her eyes, but the Feel the Love Week pledge list. She'd loved it! And her note of thanks is above.
I want to add a special thanks to Rebecca Reilly, the fan who came up with the idea six years ago. I thought she'd drifted away as I didn't see her pledge for the past couple years until I noticed a similarity between her email and another Rebecca. Turns out it was our Rebecca still with us. So thanks again for such a great idea. The fans love it and it really brightens up Lucy's life as well. Good on ya!
10/16/11 -- The person to whom organized sports is the equivalent of eating brussels sprouts has been hooked by the Rugby World Cup! Yes, that's a photo above of Lucy sitting in the stands watching the All Blacks play the Wallabies.

10/3/11 -- The second season of Spartacus is wrapping up and Lucy wanted to share her feelings for her cast and crew. Check her new message above. Can't wait until January so we can see what they've been up to. I'm sure there's heaps of physical havoc and emotional turmoil as well. That's what Spartacus excels in. If the first season and the prequel are anything to judge by, we're in for quite a ride come the new year!

9/11/11 -- Andy Whitfield has lost his battle with cancer. Lucy's message is posted above. From the way everyone who knew and worked with him spoke of him, we've lost a warm, caring, talented soul. My heart goes out to his family.
9/6/11 -- Check out the note above Lucy just sent about a Greenpeace petition against new offshore oil drilling in New Zealand. You don't have to be a New Zealander to sign it. Let's help keep oil out of the seas! Whether you swim in them, make your living from them or, even more important, if the sea is your home, we need to protect them.

Feel the Love 2011!
Gads, is September flying by! It's time for the sixth annual "Lucy Lawless Feel the Love Day" charity drive. September 19th kicks off a week of charitable acts and contributions by Lucy fans all over the world. Taking our love for all things Lucy and sharing it with those around us who are in need.
You can choose what you'd like to do, whether it is donating money or supplies to a charity, volunteering your time or services to a charitable organization, reading to a child, or helping out a neighbor, co-worker, or friend. Any act of charity or kindness counts!
Anyone, anywhere can participate, regardless of how old (or young) you are, or where you live. All you have to do is decide what charitable or kind act you would like to do during "Feel the Love" week (or at any time during September/October) and e-mail it with your name and location as you would like it to appear on the pledge list. On October 3, Lucy will be presented with the pledge list of all the charitable acts being done in her honor. To make sure your pledge gets recorded correctly please use the following format in your e-mail:
"In honor of Lucy Lawless Feel the Love Day, I will (insert your intended contribution), then put your name and location (city, state, country) as you want it to appear on the pledge list."
The subject of the email should be Feel the Love Day.
Here is the link to Starship Children's Hospital that allows you to make your donation in honor of Lucy for "Feel the Love Day" if that is what you choose to do.

The deadline for submitting pledges is October 3.
Lucy’s so proud that her fans came up with this idea. It’s something she’s talked about in many interviews. I know she enjoys reading the pledge list. Can’t wait to pass it along to her again this year.

The New Zealand section of Climate Reality will be filmed in Auckland with a 15-minute introduction by Lucy Lawless.

8/16/11 -- More information from Lucy about the auction for Rainbow Warrior III in her message above. She raided the walls of her home and put up two life-sized photos by Michael Parekowhai of the Lone Ranger and Tonto. Also in the auction will be a dinner with someone special.
8/11/11 -- Lucy shot a very tiny frog . . . with her Nikon. And she shot it to help raise conservation awareness and money for Greenpeace's Rainbow Warrior III.
8/2/11 -- Lucy's gathering up her personal artwork, jewelry and a meet and greet and putting it all up for Greenpeace International's auction on August 24 to help raise money for the Rainbow Warrior III.

She is most famous for creating the role of Xena in the series Hercules and the 6-year season of Xena, Warrior Princess, both American television series which were shot in New Zealand. She has also made several stage appearances and tours.
She is on the Board of Trustees of the Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland and promoted a Starship Foundation/Sky City fundraising campaign for Puawaitahi, New Zealand’s first multi-agency centre for abused children. She was patron and speaker at the Women in Film and Television International Summit in Auckland in April 2004."
